The Core curriculum consists of six required subjects {courses}. These are:

Addiction Counseling; Treating Domestic Violence; Suicide Prevention; Christian Counseling; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; Patient and Family Counseling.

In addition to the six required subjects, you must select two elective subjects from this list:

Alzheimer’s Counseling; Anger Management; Counseling for Women; Counseling Adolescents; Counseling Gays and Lesbians; Grief Counseling for Christians; Marriage and Family Counseling.

After receiving approval for your submission of the three Essays for the three textbooks on the final subject {#8}, you are to begin the Capstone Project. This is a Summation of your learning experience from the M.Sc. curriculum. Use your 24 Essays as the basis for a Summation of the key elements from the 24 textbooks in the eight therapy subjects, by integrating the selected key elements and methodologies in each as presented by the 24 authors. The Summation should be written so you can use it as a hand-out, or as the written source for a lecture on Christian Counseling & Therapy. The Capstone Project must contain not less than 1,500 words.

The two electives can be chosen at any time; either during the completion of the six required subjects, or after they are completed. When you select the two electives, email the subject titles to the Dean of Faculty.

Each of the eight subjects requires three textbooks. The therapy subjects textbooks list is included below. These textbooks can be purchased from Amazon, or from any other source you choose. If a book is not available, you may select an equivalent textbook. Email the title to the Dean.

You are to write three Essays, (either Review Essays, or Response Essays, and Conclusion) based upon the three textbooks required for each of the eight subjects. You make the decision on which of the Essays {Review, or Response} is most appropriate for the therapy subject, and which Essay can be beneficial to you in the future. 24 Essays are submitted as eight subject units to complete the Essays assignment for the six required and two elective therapy subjects.
